Updated 24th June 2019 – Reigate Rhinos PROMOTED
GEW will be proudly sponsoring the Reigate Lawn Tennis Club’s elite men’s team, the Reigate Rhinos, for the 2019/20 season.
This will be the Rhinos’ inaugural season at the regional level of the National Team Tennis Competition (formerly Aegon). As part of this sponsorship arrangement, GEW will also be providing new windbreaks at Reigate LTC.
Reigate LTC is a friendly, non-commercial club run entirely by its members. However, the club has several professional players and visiting spectators can expect to see a high level of play. There is an exciting fixture list already in place for the season and all supporters are warmly welcome to attend and to cheer the Rhinos on. The fixture list can be viewed here
Louise Targett, Press Officer at Reigate LTC, rallied supporters old and new with this message: “Let’s really get behind our team and give them all our support. On 14th April, which is the first home match for the Rhinos, we have arranged a variety of activities to make it a really fun day at the Club… including a barbecue, social matches for Members and a talent spotting event.” Louise adds: “We’ll also have a speed gun on court, so we can test our serves and see who can get to the top of the leader board. Please support the Reigate Rhinos and come along to our first home match on 14th April!”
Update, 8th April 2019:
Yesterday’s opening match of the season was a resounding success for the Reigate Rhinos, sealing a 10-2 away win against Globe LTC at Belsize Park in London. The team won three of their four singles matches and both of their doubles matches to achieve the impressive scoreline. Congratulations to the players: James Smith, Luke Johnson, Barry Fulcher and Graeme Alston.
The stage is set for an exciting first home event for the Rhinos on 14th April. The day begins with fun and activities at 10am and the key matches will be played at around 2pm. All are welcome to enjoy the show tennis. There will be a BBQ and the club bar and kitchen will be open for refreshments all day. For further details visit Reigate LTC
Update, 18th April 2019 – The Reigate Rhinos continue their charge:
The first home event on 14th April was a resounding success, with a great turnout of spectators being treated to an excellent days’ play. Congratulations go to the Rhinos, who won the day over Sutton Tennis & Squash Club with a final scoreline of 8 to 4.

The Rhinos’ next matches will be away to Parklangley Club 1 in Kent on Sunday 12th May and at home against Putney Team 1 on Sunday 19th May.
Update, 14th May 2019 – Stampeding Rhinos win again:
The Reigate Rhinos travelled to Bromley in Kent to play Parklangley on Sunday 12th May, coming away with an impressive 8-4 victory.
The Rhinos Team were Luke Johnson, Adam Skalsky, James Smith and Graeme Alston. Adam’s match was particularly tough but he won through after it went to a tie-break. Read the full story here
Update, 24th May 2019 – Rhinos remain unbeaten:
The Rhinos beat Putney Men’s Team 1 by 12-0 on Sunday 19th May. Representing Reigate LTC were Andrew Watson, Luke Johnson, Josh Wilson and Adam Skalsky.
The Rhinos remain unbeaten and are now at the top of their Regional Division. Their next home match is against St George’s Hill on Sunday 9th June. This will be a critical match in securing promotion to the National Division.

Update, 10th June 2019 – Rhinos charge to the top of the league table:
The Rhinos’ momentum continued throughout their final home match on Sunday 9th June, seeing them through to an impressive 12-0 win over St. George’s Hill. The seemingly invincible Rhinos just have the one away match still to play on 23rd June, but are almost certain to be promoted to the Nationals. View the full table here

Update, 24th June 2019 – Reigate Rhinos celebrate PROMOTION with a 12-0 win:
Having secured promotion to the National Division, the mighty Rhinos took on Cumberland Men’s 2 team on 23rd June, coming away with a resounding 12-0 win.
This brings a truly excellent season to a close for the Rhinos, who are now looking forward to the exciting challenges of playing in the elite division next season. As proud sponsors, GEW wish them well. Congratulations, Rhinos!
